Hi All,
For a number of personal reasons, I am selling my Zenith 601HD (completed in
1997, last flown in June 2006). Sale has absolutely nothing to do with
recent list chatter (this is an HD, not an XL). If anyone is interested in
acquiring a relatively complete (but non-flying) airplane or parts thereof
(wings, rudder, horizontal stab, gear, brakes or other parts), let me know
very soon...otherwise it'll go for metal scrap.
A list of various items I have for sale is available at:
http://users.wcvt.com/perkins/N1170Q.htm Specific photos are available upon
request. The entire list is available for $9k, as a NON-FLYING plane for
parts...data plate removed. Make an offer on any or all of it. On Monday I
start pulling it apart and listing things on EBay.
I also have a Rotax 912UL (80hp) with ~250 hrs on it. My instructor had a
landing incident resulting in a minor prop strike in June 2006. The plastic
insert of the GSC wood prop was knocked out, but the engine kept running
until I shut it down. Although several sources said it was unlikely there
was any damage, I had the engine torn down by a certified Rotax shop to
inspect the gearbox (no problems) and flange runout (in spec). Had the Bing
carbs serviced at the same time. It has been reinstalled on the plane and
run briefly since the incident and seems to operate fine. Asking $6,500
(firm) for engine, or $7,000 for engine/FWF/engine instruments (VDO).
There was scattered damage to the plane from the incident (mostly wingtip
and landing gear), nearly all of it has been repaired.
Buyers of large items will need to arrange pickup in Vermont. I'll ship
smaller items for cost.
Email me OFF-LIST at vtootm(at)accessvt.com or call me at 802-434-4738 (leave a
message). Don't reply to the list as I only subscribe to the digest version
and only read it occasionally, and to avoid list clutter.

Hi Roger,
Sorry I was so incomprehensible on the phone last night. Had been sleeping for about 30 minutes when you called.
There is one guy looking at the whole plane, so you are 2nd in line for the radio/tray, T&B, VCC, sunshade and eyeball vents. Other guy has to let me know by Monday morning. He’s from Texas, so probably a long-shot on his taking it…but he asked first. Long line of people wanting the engine.
Probably looking at $200 for radio/tray (worked great)
Turn & Bank $50 (older model, but runs well)
VCC $50
Sunshade $50 (a little faded from sun, but still a necessity for 601 drivers)
Eyeball vents (these are very nice metal vents) $75

Sorry about that….I simply replied and didn’t notice it was going to the list.
What I have learned in the 24 hrs since posting this on Barnstormers is that used Rotax 912 engines are in pretty high demand.
Do not archive.
