Michel
Can you tell me what size prop you are running on your Jab engine and what speed vs RPM you are running in cruise. Also what is your climb rate say at 1/2 fuel, pilot only and summer ambient temp around 25 degC.
Appreciate your help as I am just trying to put some comparative figures together.
Best regards
Gary

Gosh Gary, I am not a man of many numbers, you know. In my native Belgium, we use a simplifed way to count: One, two, three, many!
My propeller is a Jabiru 60 x 38 inches that gives me about 3,050 RPM at cruise level. With that setting, I burst the red line of my Kitfox 3 that is 100 MPH. I usually cruise at 2,600 RPM and it gives me something like 85 MPH. Climb rate? At the above conditions I would say around 800 fpm. But, as you may already know, I have only analogue instruments and as long as everything is on the green sector, I relax and enjoy the flying. Last Saturday, I went flying a few traffic pattern and it was so turbulent that all the dials went from nothing to everything in a matter of a spit second. I lost my denture, wig and glass eye! Well, the TAF said CB and TCU but I just had to try, staying around the airfield in case one of those big black nasty thing was to pass over us.
Cheers,
Michel

thanks Michel
I have an earlier model Jab than you and I was interested to see if there was much of a performance difference. I have a coarser prop than you (60 x 42) but t appears the climb and cruise numbers are pretty similar.
Best regards
