Hey Gang,

Anyone have any tips on aiming landing and taxi lights on a 601XL?

Jay, (and others), I just stuck that wing into the fuselage outside around dusk and went out in front of the plane about 60 feet. I moved the light so the low beam hit me direct near the ground and the high beam was nearly waist high at the same distance. Should be fine.

Jay I haven't done it yet but I realized that I couldn't find how to aim them anywhere. Then it dawned on me that there are plenty of aircraft at the airport so my plane is a follows. Find an airplane that has them aimed correctly. Then get the pilot to turn on the taxi light see where it hits the ground. Repeat process with landing light.

It is a compromise really, if you aim them for taxiing and ground use, you
will find that they are probably aimed too high for final approach. If you
aim them for final approach they will probably be too low for taxiing.
That's my experience anyway.

Regards,
Jeff
