Long wing. Wink

I also need to be able to fly in areas ( not inside ! ) of
thunderstorms that always build here during the daytime here in
Florida, so the plane needs to be strong and agile enough to handle
the bad turbulence that often comes when one flys near a storm.

Can't do much to change the strength, but a light plane will handle
more g's than a heavy plane. (Given the same strength.)

I also need a heater,

Easy on a 912. Auto heat exchanger coupled to the radiator circuit
with a push/pull water mixing valve and DC computer fans for air.
I've seen some nice custom ducting with large eye-ball vents, as
well. I've also seen nice exhaust heat systems too.

and would like to soundproof as much as possible. I don't know if
firewall sound proofing works well on a Kitfox ?

Not necessary unless you want to fly without headsets. The 912 is
very quiet, and good headsets nearly eliminate what noise is there.

I plan on an EFIS panel, clouds happen and sometimes an artificial
horizon can save your arse Smile Thats it in a nutshell, if there is
anything else I should consider let me know.

Put in a nice baggage box before you cover. (Some like the wing
baggage boxes outboard of the fuel tanks too.)

For the mentioned criteria - Long cross country, and mild aerobatics
I can think of better planes than the Kitfox.

I'm not bad mouthing them, since I did build and fly one, but it's
not the ideal choice for those things. It can certainly do a lot more
than local flying, and getting in and out of grass airports, but it's
not going to get you half way across the country while doing snappy
aileron rolls along the way on a tank of gas.

Plus it's not going to ride in turbulence like for example an Archer.
