Light filler is very less resistant than aluminium, so all you've got to do
to remove the rivet is to place the edge of the drill about the center of it
and the tool will find its way itself. I've never done this on a plane, but
did it many, many times on fiberglass sport cars. The filler I used is
conventional balsa filler that is light and can be thinned with water to be
injected, sanded and painted, and has never left its place even when I used
it on the off-road babies.
Well, as I said, never used on planes, sorry.
IŽll soon have an answer to this (laughs). Hope not having to do all the
work again.
That's why there's an "experimental" label near my door...

My plane is an CH 801 and, although different from yours, I'm here to read
and get some of your experience, maybe looking for a low winged plane soon.
I'm also on other not owned equipment's lists for the same reason. Hope you
are not angry.
Clear skies and "butter" landings to all.

The thing perhaps not mentioned is the likelihood that eventually,
repairs to wing tanks, dings or panel repairs would make it necessary to
reopen
the structure. I cannot see the joy of trying to drill out rivets that
have been essentially filled with anything that would eliminate a center
for the drill.
Without filler, rivets are easy to remove and a panel can be replaced
with some ease. With filler, forget it.
