YAK-55M Owners,

I’m recovering the tail feathers on my YAK-55M...the Russian cotton finally rotted out, and I’m trying to exactly copy the stock paint scheme and all the call-outs.

On each of the fixed trim tabs on both elevators and the fixed tab on the rudder, there was a red placard word stenciled in Russian Cyrillic that runs the full length of the tab. The original paint has long since rubbed off, and all I can make out is one part of a single letter. I assume this is a warning similar to “No Push” or such, but can’t see enough of the original to tell what it says.

Anybody out there have a new stock paint job that can tell me what the Russians stenciled on the tabs of a Yak-55M, and even better, I’d sure like a picture if anyone has a good close-up so I can have decals, or a set of paint masks made.

Thanks for the help.

Hi George,

It does indeed say "Don't Push" in Russian. I've got such a scheme and
will get you some pictures.
