Hello listers,<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
With rising fuel prices everybody talks about injection engines, especially for the 91x engines. There are interesting features e.g. on www:experimentalinjection.com. However the size of the resulting engine is such that it might not fit under a standard LSA cowling.
Throttle bodies and engine control computers are not difficult to obtain as they can be adapted from the automobile or motorcycle world.
For me the critical point to start would however be to find suitable elbows to be flanged to the cylinder intakes to produce the intake manifold. Is anybody out there how knows whether a standard elbow of another engine would fit? Maybe even Rotax themselves might have such an elbow used for another engine (snowmobile, quad or whatsoever) for taking benefit of standardisation, but they might not tell.
Milling a flange and welding an exactly bent aluminium tube to it would be the second best way if you can get the whole thing as a series spare part J
I would like to add a common plenum and individual injectors to all four cylinders with a common throttle body. Any ideas?
Richard
