Does anyone have any experience with 10:1 compression in a IO-360 200 HP engine?
* What are the down sides of running 10:1 in that engine?
* What is the HP gain?
* What is the impact to TBO?
* What is the impact to reliability?
If you've done it, would you do it again, or just go with the standard 8.7:1 compression?

Matt,
I think I can answer your questions.
* The down side to running 10:1 pistons in the 200 hp IO-360 is the
increase
in cylinder pressures and bearing loads, particularly the rod
bearings.
* We see an increase of approximately 6-8 HP on our dynamometer.
* You can just about count on a 1,000 hour TBO with 10:1 pistons
* See last answer!
TBO's are subjective and more dependant on operator input, maintenance
and frequency of use, or lack thereof.
Hope this helps,
Allen
