I am installing the engine now. I have two pieces of hose that came with a
classic FWF several years ago. I am wanting to know if the following is
still acceptable to use.
One has 3 red stripes, and on the hose is written"SEMPERIT TU 25 BAR
BENZIN/0L PETROL/OIL ANTI-STATIC". It measures approximately 13.5mm IDx 1300
mm.
Hose two is solid black and is spirally wrapped, and is written
"CONTI-TCH-OLNS-1-12 X 3.5 >AEM< >AEM<". It measures approximately 12.5
mm ID x 1540 mm.
I didn't get much of an engine installation manual either, so any tips would
be appreciated.

Hi Troy,

The allowed age of the rubber components is 5 years. Better to order new, it's not expensive either. A FwF manual can be found at
http://www.europa-aircraft.biz/pdfs/buildersmanuals/xs912%20Mar%202008.pdf

Hi Troy,

I'd suggest using Aeroquip 666 hose for the oil line, however it is
expensive.
A friend was surprised to find that the heat from his 914 had made
the original
rubber hose quite brittle after a couple of years flying.

Aeroquip 666 is excellent hose and I have some in my XS.

Recognize however that Aeroquip 666 is not compatible with any of the
Rotax fittings and they will all need to be replaced if you go with the
666. The hose has a teflon inner layer which can not be pushed
over barbed connections and instead requires standard MilSpec
hose fittings which are anything but standard on a Rotax.

My use is to replace the oil pressure sensor with an npt to MS connector
thence through a small orifice to a 666 line back to a firewall mounted
pressure sender.
