Today was the day. All went well. I took my 15-yr-old son up with me in my Kolb Mark II this morning. He really enjoyed it. So did I. I've attached some pictures.

I went up by myself first. I went up to 3000 feet and did a power-off stall. It stalled at 42 on my airspeed indicator. I did 3 full-stop landings and then he got in with me. We went up, and I did a stall with him. It stalled at 47. I didn't stay up long because I didn't load a bunch of gas in there. I wanted to make sure it would climb ok with the extra weight. It did climb slower of course but it climbed about as good or better as the Cessna 150 with me and my instructor in it. I don't have a VSI and didn't time it. But it was enough of a difference that I believe I'll get a sooner start to the day next time while it is still good and cool.

We came back down and I increased my approach by 5 and turned base sooner. We floated in ground effect a little longer than I expected, but it was getting hotter already. The landing was ok...not bad for first time with passenger...but I wish it had been perfect. But my son is willing to go up with me again, so I guess I didn't do too bad. Laughing
