I am in the process of fitting the pants - the instructional drawings are pretty poor and I don't quite understand the process re cutting the inside of the pants for the gear legs. Do you just cut enough fibreglass away to clear the obstructions (gear leg and brake lines etc) and then use the aluminum covers to cover the opening with the bent lip at the bottom. As you have the Grove gear this probably makes no sense at all so if anybody else has the tube gear and wheel pants I'd love your comments.
For the record I am a mechanical engineer and these instructions have me beat!

Hi Gary-
Basically what I did was to cut and fit. It helps if you can find the
very tiny dimple on the outside of the pant where the outer support
spindle hole is to be drilled. I found it on mine, and drilled this
hole, then it was a matter of nibbling away at the inner areas of the
pant until they cleared the obstructions as you observed. I ran a 1x4
board from the bottom of the wheel back to the tailwheel to mimic the
ground, then oriented the pant radially so the bottom became parallel
with this board. (Just as an aside, I made my pants just a wee bit
too close to the ground, and am always wary of transiting from grass
to runway, and vice versa. And low tire pressure can be damaging too.
I was too concerned with the tire sticking out and causing drag.) At
first I cut too much fiberglas away and had to build the area back
up. The second pant went much easier. I reinforced the areas (with .
032" aluminum as I recall) where the mounting bolts go through the
'glas, and in fact used nutplates for mounting the machine screws. I
imbedded the aluminum plates in fiberglas cloth and resin, keeping
the screw holes clean with grease. I made a U-shaped reinforcing
plate that surrounds the whole cut-out, and extends to the bottom of
the pant. Then I made a cover plate that ties the bottom of the pant
front-to-rear, and a slot in that to allow the brake line to exit.
The last picture shows the bottom cover/fairing that displays a less-
than-elegant landing that I made in a 19-35 mph crosswind in
Tennessee last year.
