First, I would like to publically thank Bob, Gary, Michael, and Tim for coordinating the RV-10 HQ Campsite at Airventure this year. Without the efforts of these gentlemen (Brenda, Susan, and Andrea too) we wouldn’t have had the great experience we all had this year.

I know that I came away much more knowledgeable about the tasks in front of me after talking with these gentlemen and the others that hung out at the RV-10 HQ campsite. I find the camp site much more educational than most of the forums.

Unfortunately, my wife and I were late on Friday and didn’t get a chance to meet all the new folks that only made it to Friday’s dinner. Friday night got a little crazy for us. While attempting to listen to Lt. Dan’s Band, we got calls from our son who was stranded by United at O’hare on his way home from Ellsworth AFB and our daughter upset that her band camp got canceled due to a rabid bat being found in one of their cabins. Things worked out well, even though it was hectic for a little while.

Janice and I had to bug out early for a 7:30 breakfast on Saturday. I ended up getting a 5th place Web Editor award for our chapter’s web site that I just put up a couple weeks before the show. For those that we didn’t get to say goodbye, both Janice and I enjoyed meeting everyone. Hopefully we’ll get to do it all over again next year!

I’ve put a zip file with pictures from Saturday’s dinner on my web site. The site isn’t officially online, but if you use the exact url, you should be able to retrieve the files.

www.buckeyeaero.com/RV10SaturdayDinne.zip It’s a little over 6megs in size.

Bob,

Thanks for the thanks, great pictures too! One of the reasons that I enjoy staying as part of an RV-10 group is the afternoon/evening chatter. I know that I learn a lot every year just sitting around and listening. Now that I’m flying I find it very rewarding to pass along things that I’ve picked up over time.

Bob

I concur. It is a joy to me to see builders helping builders. We will do it again.

We'd like to pile on here and extend the same thanks to the RV-10 Campsite team - especially Bob & Susan and Gary & Brenda - for their work, hospitality, and best of all, advice and counsel.

This being my 2nd year, I was looking forward to bringing Alicia this year. She was not disappointed!

We hope to make again next year, despite the minor inconvenience of having to fly into Fond-du-Lac instead of the main show....

"not coming back to Airventure until we can do it in the '10"
Bill Watson & Alicia Ortiz

..and since the Blue Devils and Tigers field such sad football teams - I don't mind adding, "Go Dawgs"
