Thanks to every one for their kind comments, especially to the ones who
suggested a through post flight inspection. When I removed the right
root wing inspection plate, I found a very slight fuel leak coming from
one of the fuel sender screws. It was caused by over tightening the
screw, causing the fiber washer to split. There was no outside evidence
of fuel leakage. The tank had been previously leak tested, so I am
reasonably sure it occurred on the first flight.
Now, all seriousness aside and please excuse my weak attempt at humor,
and please keep the flame throwers holstered, but this could have caused
an explosion which could have caused the wing to fold.
