Jorge,
I had the same problem w/my KF-IV. Your best advice will come from John...but I was told to start at the inboard and work out inserting the pins. I needed a co-pilot to help me nurse it into position, but it worked out fine.

Me, I would elongate the holes using a Dremel with a burr.
If you haven't covered, I'd consider replacing the thin plates with
tubes, similar to that on the horizontal. Then you can use
polyethylene bushings on all surfaces.

Simple fix, use a drill and reamer and go up to the next size larger bolt
and rebore the bushing to work with the larger bolt. If you can't do that
then you'll have to weld a new tab on.
That's the only things you can really do to fix it.

If you do go to plastic bushings use Delrin, or better yet PEEK, Nylon
will wear out very fast if used for elevator bushings. PEEK is very
expensive, Delrin is probably your best choice.
You can get the bushings from McMaster Carr http://www.mcmaster.com

Hey guys.. lets not confuse the Model IV elevators to the 5 and newer...
Jorge,
The simple fix is to open the hole slightly... Can most likely be
done with a reamer. When the elevator tab is bolted on it will be up
against the inner bushing in the stabilizer and be just fine.

That would work, but it would not be acceptable from the accepted practices
point of view, since then you would have a hole larger in diameter than
the bolt.
Obviously it won't be a serious problem, but I think going to a 1/4 dia. bolt
would be a better solution. That is if it is like a series 5 which uses bushings.
