I am using the ZAC friction throttle control, we adjusted by trial and error in the first few hours of flight, got it set in a confortable friction set, just little over the pull of the carburator.
Has been set since, no further adjustement in 208 hrs...
Keep it simple, only add simplicity and lightness to your airplane...

I had the same problem with a friction throttle. It would keep increasing RPM
if I wasn't careful. I almost had a mishap while warming up one day. The
RPM's were increasing and I didn't realize it. If you try to set the
friction so it doesn't creep it will be hard to fine adjust the RPM's. I
went to the Vernier throttle control and it works very well. There is no creep,
a couple of twists to increase or decrease the RPM's or depress the button
to push or pull for larger adjustments. A much, much safer arrangement in my
opinion.
