For that kind of hole get a reamer with a pilot. Spend teh $$ and
avoid ruining the part. Never push a reamer.
Standard practice.
If you don't want to spring for the trick reamer use a drill bit with
a hand chuck from an old drill and slowly work up to the correct size
using hand force only. Use drills from a set of number sizes since
they offer smaller difference from size to size. I only found one or
two that had metal to be removed all the rest has just paint.
Sigh, I have a sign on my tool box left over from construction that
says "PULL THE REAMER"
Some of the holes on the KF need a long extension to avoid
interference. I have 3 of them that will extend a reamer about 3'.
This allows better alignment in some cases. Won't take the place of a
pilot reamer, but it does get those hard to reach holes.
BTW, My M-4 did not need a pilot reamer.

The problem with pulling it through is that it's on the closed end
of the mount. The tight space and the powder-coat inside the hole
made it impossible for me to pull the reamer through.

Not too savvy. How do you pull a reamer? I just can't picture it in my mind. Thanks, Don

Put it backwards through the hole then fit it into your hand drill.
After some some advice I received offline, I assembled the right mount with the control column. Once the nut and bolt were tightened everything squared up and everything was solid, no problem here. I'm still going to get a new right pivot.
