Hey Jay: Congratulations on your new airplane. I recommend you consider using apiece of heavy rubber (like tire casing) to support the exhaust from the engine mount. The rubber will allow things to move but not break. We use that sort of arrangement on the Alon exhaust (C 90) which is almost like an O-200.

at the cowling. One clamp goes on the tailpipe itself, and the other on the
engine mount tubing. Both of mine on the engine mount (both sides) broke on
the way home; we discovered this when we had the cowling off to change the
oil. One clamp had departed the aircraft, and the other was held on on one
side only and flopping loose.
Garry at AMD said that was there to provide some extra support for the
tailpipe. My mechanic said that he didn't see why it was there, and he
recommended just leaving it off; Garry agreed that that would work fine.
Comments? What's everyone else doing?
