I've seen a lot of discussions on this list about using the flaperons for
trim and the pros and cons of using "flaps"; and most don't seem to apply to
my UK built Model 2. My original training was in the world of spam cans,
Pipers mostly, so I thought nothing of my Kitfox's standard trim and flap
controls - a continuously variable trim "wheel" and 3 notches for flaps.

On reviewing build documents I found dozens of PFA (UK version of EAA)
modifications to the original kit and it seems like the UK Kitfoxes are
built to a very different standard than the original Denney US kit.

Anyway - I have attached pics of my trim tab and trim & flap "console" -
does anyone else have a similar setup? I use mine all the time and wouldn't
want to be without it!

Bob,

Sort of like deja Vu all over again. When I built my first IV, I needed a
trim tab as that was what I was used to as well. I opted for the Speedster
elevator. I like your mod and it seems like a neat set-up. Mine will be
similar, but electric like the original with a switch on the top of the
stick. I think that lots of the low cruise speeds on the early Kitfoxes are
due in large part to the use of flaps for trim - lots of drag.
