I am finishing the panel on my -8A. Spent a lot of time analyzing “what ifs?” regarding failure modes. Finally settled on an AFS-3500, with a TruTrac ADI II for attitude back up – along with a Garmin 496 for a rough last ditch “get it right side up” capability. SL40 NavCom with an ICOM backup. Regular airspeed, altimeter, vsi as backup.

In my opinion, regularly going IMC with only a single EFIS and no backup will eventually get you killed.
