I see where some of the already built 10's have a really cool "firesleeve" that wires go through on the firewall. It looks like a tube with a flange on the bottom. The flange attaches to the firewall. The tube allows an excellent air and fire seal.
Where do I get these???

A search on AOL.com resulted in a notice that the President of EPM-AV corp was out and the business was closed.
However, Aircraft Spruce sell three sizes of the firewall penetration sleeves. SafeAir1 also sells a kit.

Just a quick update:I talked to Paul this morning; EPM.AV Corp is being reorganized due to incapacity of a partner. They think they will be open for business again in about a month, with an expanded product line. The phone # works, the website is down for now. They will announce the new company on VAF and, presumably, here.

Thanks guys. But I only need 1/4" & 1/2" openings. The safe air is $47 - a bit pricey. Also it is only in .90" size opening - too large . I cannot see making a firewall hole any larger than the minimum necessary.
Also, I cannot fine the "sleeves" on the spruce site. Anyone have the part numbers, and I do not mean the "eyeball type".
Maybe I will just wait for the the EPV guy in Utah to reopen. Any other options?

Page 317 of the 2008 catalog. Part number 09-00977 for 1/2 inch but it is even more pricey.

Thanks a lot guys. I talked to Paul Bowmar at Plane Innovations LLC (formerly of EPM-AV) today. He has excellent and thoroughly tested products, but I cannot see spending the extra $100+ for two firewall penetration kits. I will probably buy the Vans "el cheapo" SS covers ($9.50) and use a lot of Red goop.
Again thanks for the advice.
PS. I strongly urge you to buy the SS heater valves from Paul. Very good and high quality

Update - Paul Bomar also sells a 2000 degree silicone seal for his fire protection kits. He has kindly offered to sell me some at a reasonable price. Sounds like this stuff is a lot better than the red goop........
