Does anybody have an electrical schematic for a CJ-6A with the solid state regulator installed. It seems that the Generator monitor light system is different than a standard CJ-6A.

Frank,
The solid state regulator was a mod which was done at the air bases and was not "stock" to new aircraft comming from the Nanchang factory, so all dwgs (that I know of) will show the older mag type regulator.

I have owned 2 factory new (flying) CJ6's and two others which were damaged (in a trucking accident), all were mfg'd in 2000 or later, all four had the older style mag regulator.

Always Yakin,
Doug

Has someone installed a B&C system on the aircraft, or something else of
the same ilk? Or does the aircraft still use the same generator but
with a solid state control system?

Mark/Frank:

We just completed a B&C alternator/regulator install on the Wilga -
although it is the AI14 engine I believe it uses the same mounting plate
as the stock CJ engine. Contact Morten Stoverud at
mortsaero(at)comcast.net or (856) 495-3159.

Yes it still uses the 50 AMP generator but a solid state regulator mounted
behind the pilots seat.

Wow. If you ever get an answer to your query on this thing, I'd like to have a copy of it as well.

Thanks,

Mark Bitterlich

Hi Reade, no... slight misunderstanding. I am very familiar with the B&C stuff. In this case we are dealing with a stock generator with a solid state regulator. I have never seen anything like this.

Mark
