Mike Stratman of CPS has a piston decarbon kit for soaking pistons over night. I have heard people say that it doesnt do a good job in completely cleaning the ring groves and rings.
I my R/C days, we use to take our badly baked 4 stroke engines and dump them into a crock pot (not Mamma's), w/ straight antifreeze. let them soak overnight and the next morning they looked like new. Didnt need to do anything else but oil them. All the black carbon around the mufflers and headers were completely gone. A real miracle.
I am wondering if there would be any problems with soaking Rotax pistons overnight in the heated crock pot. I cant imagine any adverse effects, but someone may know some magic situations here that would indicate this is a no-no. ????

I used to do the same thing, but of course we were using a different
fuel in those babies than we use in our planes. At least I don't use
nitro and alcohol in my engine...............yet. So I'm thinking
that the glycol and crock pot thing wouldn't do much for the
carbon....but I could be wrong.
