I'm certain this has been discussed before, but I could use some current advice about aircraft insurance for my 701.
My all risks insurance with Falcon runs out this month and I need to renew it. Before doing so it would be nice to know if anyone has found a better deal. I live in California and currently pay $2.150./year for $50,000. all risks (like auto collision) and $1-million liability. I have a total of 500 flying hours including 110 in my Zenith 701.
If anyone knows where I can find a better deal, pls let me know who to call.
Rgds,
Les

Hi Les,
I've a 601HDS, 3rd year flying and 125 hrs aircraft and 450 hrs pilot
for $35K hull full coverage.
I did find that you can purchase full flight, liability only, and hangar
& taxi (non-flying) insurance or any combination
thereof. AIG said if I had 300 hours on my aircraft, insurance would
cost less, progressing toward that direction each year.
There are a lot of factors involved of course, but I'm at $1400.00 this
year, down $100.00 from last at 50 hours.
For your' aircraft, if you've no money owed on it, I'd consider lowering
the hull value to $30K and keep insurance on it with
the knowledge that you'd probably only prang a wing, a gear or a prop
with any real careful flying.
I priced AIG from several representatives, St Louis, Texas, etc. and
went with the lowest price from Ankeny, Iowa.
Good luck,,
