I noticed for the first time in your sig that you are using a Franklin in your plane. Back when I got started building I though about using that engine but was warned off because they are supposed to be near impossible to get parts for.

Have you found a parts source?

Yes Gig ,I have found a parts source .I have bought two new Slick mags from
Aircraft Spruce ,starter from local people and I already had a carburetor .I
will use an auto alternator and the fuel pump is the same one used by
Corvair .I forget what the TBO for this engine is ,however at my age 75 this
is not an issue .It is a beautiful engine and I have had good results with
Franklins in the past .

Good logical answer Wade. What ever engine with more than 1,500 hrs of TBO, we (pilots by sport) install in our airplanes, we will only need tune up parts... Smile Smile

Flying from Chapala, Mexico
701 912S only about 210 hrs in 2 years; TBO 1,500 hrs (?)
That gives close to 15 years of fun flying Smile
