May I ask for a reference as to where I might procure
some extra cockpit bulbs?
Thanks,

Gill Hayes at M14. 928-681-4400. A small piece of trivia for the 50 drivers.
Did you know that the 28 v instrument panel bulbs use in fire trucks can be
used to replace the burnt out gear actuator lights? I found mine at Auto
Zone.

They are the equivalent for the 327. Unfortunately, I am not at the hanger
now so I can't get you the exact number. I will have to pull a bulb in the
am and get it for you.

I use #327's and remove the internal material and glass bulb from the old
Russian bulb and slide the 327 into the new Russian bulb "sleeve". Insert
this into the lamp fixture. Works perfect and has for many years on many
airplanes.

Thought so.
If anyone really needs 327's let me know.

Dennis,
That technique works on my 52 but not my 78 50. I think it will work on the
later models. My bulbs can actually be dimmed or brightened by rotating the
bulb housing (lens). That is not the case with the 52.

Doc,
When we get to the hangar, let me take a look at a bulb behind the dimming
lense.

Guys,
We literally have almost 1000 of these lamps.
Yes, you can gut the Russian SM-28 lamp to retrofit a GE-327 lamp into
them.
It's time consuming and a pain in the (at)ss.
The life time is about the same.
I have also found direct LED replacement lamps for about $14ea which
will never require replacement again.
Cheers,
Cliff

Are those for a CJ or Yak? Do you sell those led's or can you pass on the part number.
(I'm looking to replace the gear bulbs in a -6a. FJ30v)
