These are probly the best retrofit indicators for landing gear position you
can buy.
You can get them from www.newark.com
This link will get you the data sheet for both the bulbs and the bulb
holder...... http://www.dialight.com/pdfs/prodgroup/508-xx38-504.pdf
You can get incandescent bulbs but why? The LED bulb part numbers are listed
below and they last almost forever.
As most know, LED bulbs rarely if ever burn out so this retrofit for any
28VDC aircraft landing light system is one of the best available.

Did anybody do this? Most of the links are dead. I don't quite get how this conversion works. Ideas? Thanks in advance. Mike

I have not done it, but the theory is a no-brainer really. You simply
take out the bulb holders that are presently there for your present
landing gear position indicator lights, and install the ones listed in
the link. One of the links is bad that is listed but this one:
http://www.newark.com/ is still good. Simply go to that site, and plug
in the part numbers listed in the thread and order the parts.
The general idea is that Russian light bulbs can be a pain to keep in
stock. If you pull the Russian light bulbs AND the bulb holders out,
(unsolder the wires) and then replace them with new bulb sockets and LED
replacement bulbs, they should darn near last forever and never need to
be changed.
It's a great idea. Wish I had thought of it! However, since I have
about 50 spare Russian bulbs on hand already, I will probably wait for
awhile before doing it.
