I have a 701 with a 914 installed.
I have both tanks teed together before the fuel shut off. I have the return installed in the left tank,I have just gottenit running I put about 3/4 of fuel inthe left tank and ran the engine. I noticed fuel running out the left wing and found the tank full!! after a few minutes it came down and leved both tanks .
I have the stock zenith caps.
any sugestions? or am I going to have to only fill the laft tank half full.
is ther a better way to get the fuel to level in both tanks quicker?
anybody have the same issues with a 914?
I know ther arent to many out there in a 701.

There is a 701 with 914 up here in North Qld Australia
He purchased a tap which draws from and returns to the tank selected/
Lh Feed Lh return
Just another way of thinking
The savanna has a 6Litre intermediate tank with fuel low warning, fuel can
return there.

Tracy,
I use an 8 lt collector tank behind the baggage compartment with shut-off
valves at each wing root to control fuel flow. My return goes to the
collector. An emergency shut-off in the main line at the instrument panel
cuts off all flow from the collector. Works well for me.

thanks for the info
I have been thinking of getting a different fuel shutoff ,of course I always want to ad more weight and complexity to the aircraft!!!
how did you control the fuel on the overflow tank? how did you keep that from overflowing?

Tracy,
Continued from my last post yesterday. Have three 1/4 brass ball valve
purchased at Princess Auto for $4. a piece. The emergency shut-off on the
instrument panel is ON and is never OFF except during maintenance or
emergency. The valve on the left tank is OFF except for long Xcountries,.
The right is turned OFF after flight and stays OFF until the next start to
test the LOW FUEL warning light in the collector then ON for TO. On a long
xcountry I turn it OFF when the collector LOW FUEL warning come ON steady
and then feed the left tank.
