About a year ago, I read that article and then spoke with Les Doudt at
Hartzell, the same guy referenced in the article.
He advised me that as of this past Spring, Hartzell was to have a new
hub that would be modified to allow clocking the prop in the same
manner.
I was all set with a machinist to modify mine but decided to hold off
'til the new prop came out however, I haven't heard if that happened
yet or not. Anyone else?

Subject: Re-clocking the prop
Back in April 07 Michael Stewart posted some good info about
reclocking the
2-blade Hartzell on an IO540 to reduce vibration. Now that my plane
has 60
hours on it and I have fixed all the little first few flights
squaks, I am now
focusing on the vibration issue. I did not notice it much in the
first few
hours because I kept the RPMs up around 2350 but the more I play
around with low
power/RPM settings the more I feel it.
So I am wondering if anyone else has tried this since Michael showed
us it
worked, and Michael if you are reading this, I tried the link to
your webpage
from the 4/07 posting and it did not work, do you have a new web
address?
