Hi Barry,
thank you very much for blackmailing me.
My wife asked me (against my better judgment)
to straighten out some things, so here we go.
First of all Barry, my first name is ELMAR.
It is derived from a Scandinavian name and
has nothing to do with your American
version ELMER.
Secondly, half of the people here in British
Columbia are connected to Shaw Cable,
hence the email extension (at)shaw.ca.
I have nothing to do with any of your suggestions,
got that Barry?
I am now since more than 4 years on this list
and I've learned a lot from the experienced
members of this community, thank you very
much for your patience and sharing your
knowledge.
I own and fly a CJ-6A now for appr. 3 1/2 years
and my wife and I put over 500 hours on it.
That means I have a constant demand for
parts and to keep my down time at a minimum
I prefer to have more than one supplier at hand.
I like to keep my aircraft in the best and
safest possible condition and that explains
my scrutiny when it comes to spare parts.
I don't like used parts, somehow I have
no luck with them. Here in Canada those
aircrafts are treated like certified aircrafts
and we have to use original parts and any
modifications have to be approved by the
Canadian FAA, so there is no or little room
for experiments.
IMHO, criticism and competition is vital for
our economical system, otherwise we would
have no or few improvements.
I made the mistake to misjudge the situation
and offended Mr. Doug Sapp and some other
nice people on the list. There is no excuse for my
behavior and I stepped over the line. I am very
sorry for that, please accept my apologies.
What triggered this whole fiasko was a stupid
thought of mine. What would happen if Mr. Doug
Sapp decides one day to retire and enjoy the fruits
of his working life in warmer areas of this planets,
where do I get then my parts from? Would that be
the end of the CJ era in North-America?
I've asked Matt Dralle to remove my postings but
I got no response. So for all our sake, for the future
I have to stay clear off this list and I thank you for your
understanding.
With best regards
Elmar Hegenauer
