Just wondering if anybody has installed the trim wheel available at
www.PerihelionDesign.com/moreproducts.htm second item down the page.

If so, would be interested to know how you have found it.

This device turns the electric MAC elevator trim from a time based control
to a positional control like in Cessnas etc.

Cheers

Sounds like a very good plan,Kingsley. The MAC/Europa trim control is

very fierce.

Yes Graham, it reads good but I don't yet know the physical size of it or
it's cost.
I would prefer the wheel to the standard set-up not that I am saying there
is anything wrong with the latter. . . I already have it installed !

Hope you're keeping well Ole mate!

Hi Kingsley,

I can echo Grahams comment about the trim, but I approached the
problem a little differently. Matt Dralle, the guy who runs this
forum sells a small device that allows you to adjust the speed of the
MAC servo. It works really nicely and I can recommend it.

Regards, Paul

Hi Kingsley

Here is another interesting item that would probably work on a Europa:
http://www.steinair.com/trim.htm

Except that it is a switch behind a switch, i.e. moving the "stuck
switch" scenario further down the chain, to a "stuck steinar" scenario.
In simplicity and reliability there is not much that can improve upon
the original Europa trim design. Any additional electrical component can
fail as well. What's next? Another product to guard againts the Steinar
"broken on/of/reverse" switch and against the Steinar "stuck 3 minutes
timer"? Wink

I would endorse the 3rd product down which I believe is in the trim wheel product.
I have one on my Esqual and the finesse of control is brilliant. It will adjust the trim that finely that you can hardly see the trim tab move. Before fitting it was nearly impossible to set the trim accurately as the motor would overrun past the required setting. I also use the last products on the page to control heater vents-again brilliant.
