This Director of aviation for Clark County is trying to prohibit experimental aircraft operations at North Las Vegas <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
Randy Walker has succeeded in gaining approval of a proposal to give him local control over who can fly at Las Vegas Valley airports under his control. The request was swallowed hook line and sinker by an uninformed County Commission. Next step is to take this to Congress through our Nevada Congressional delegation.
Where will it end? Given the state of the country and the very pressing issues facing the new administration ask yourself could this lunatic request slip through the cracks and gain approval? Think of the consequences if every local governmental or airport agency could decide to set up its’ own set of rules. Walker only views his interests and clearly has demonstrated a lack of understanding as to the needs of a coordinated and safe air traffic system. By his proposal, which the County Commission so blindly approved, Walker has clearly overstepped all boundaries of common sense. His plan replaces good proven practices with chaos affecting the entire national air traffic system.
Walker’s proposal has wide ranging effects (or the proverbial unintended consequences) which:
· Threaten all experimental aircraft builders and owners.
· Impact private aircraft owners of every type.
· Limit every instructor and every student pilot.
· Involve every pilot, mechanic and aviation business related individual.
· Impact all aspects of General Aviation.
· Reduce safety and standardization.
· Result in destabilization of revenue and general aviation related commerce to the community.
In short it threatens you and your hard earned right to freedom of flight in a safe and orderly environment.
STOP ANOTHER NAIL IN THE COFFIN OF GENERAL AVIATION

<?xml:namespace prefix="v" /><?xml:namespace prefix="o" /><![endif]--> Sounds like AOPA needs to become involved. Also, the EAA.
