I am seeking information and advice with regard to fuel leaking out of the in board Vent from the starboard tank. I fly an 18T with extended wing tanks. The problem is exclusively the left wing. As ambient temperature increases, pressure develops within the left wing, this results in a trickle of fuel coming out of the left in board vent, under the fuselage immediately inside the wing root. This is immediately stopped by opening the fuel cap of the outboard tank with an audible release of pressure. All ground checks show that all three air vents into the left-hand side are patent, with air flowing into them easily. There is never a problem with fuel starvation, the tanks drain reasonably symmetrically in-flight provided I am straight and level! With the tanks completely full (180 L in the two in board wing tanks and a further 70 L in each of the outboard wing tank), I can trigger the mechanism of fuel coming out of the in board left-hand vent, by doing a fuel drain through the central common feeder tank. I assume that this is beginning a siphon. On one occasion overtime approximately 1 week this resulted in the complete depletion of every drop of fuel in the right pair of fuel tanks. I assume a game that had this was a siphon set up, of unusual nature. My LAME has been over the aircraft, and cannot find a fuel blockage or drain problem anywhere. Has anyone seen this pattern before or have any advice before I open every single screw and panel and pull apart the fuel tanks?

Stewart,
In your first sentence you refer to the inboard vent from the starboard tank. Then in the 3rd sentence your refer to the problem as exclusively from the left tank. If you'll contact me off list, I may be able to give you some guidance on troubleshooting the vent system because I have seen a very similar problem on the 52.
