Has anybody purchased or received a set of the new main landing gear rubber pads on the 601XL? They are supposed to replace the cut rubber heater hose pieces in the fuselage channel and clamp around the main landing gear mounts. Are they worth the money and seem like a good deal? I am in the process of mounting my landing gear and was told Zenith is selling a new type that is a great improvement over the old type.

Don't know 601s but I replaced the stock pads for my 701 with pads cut from steel belted tire. They are lasting very well. A little difficult to cut the steel belts but it's worth the effort.

I went down to the hardware store and bought some thick rubber gasket
material. I seems to be holding up well after four years and 250 hours.

an old piece of tire works fine. cut the holes for the bolts to go through and it should hold well.

I cut new landing gear pads from an ordinary truck mud flap.
Very cheap and fabric reinforced.
