So what specific gas springs have folks purchased for the doors on their
701s? Closed and open lengths, force, who you bought them from, etc? How
have the springs worked? Did you need to reinforce the door frame? Pictures
would be great.

Craig, I found a guy on Ebay that sells all different sizes and pressures and he is very reasonable.
The ones I used have 20lbs of pressure if memory serves me well and were about 12" overall length, compressed. The number on the actual shock is 38593, I am sure if you emailed him he would give you the details of the shock.
His email is ohopbob(at)yahoo.com
I would post a picture but can't seem to downsize my attachment.
20lbs holds the door up lightly, a strong will blow it shut, but when you close it, there is no strain on the frame.

Thanks! So p/n 9416K18 worked for you? What force did you select? It comes
in 15, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, 120 or 130 pounds.

Craig and all, good morning.

Have'nt bought any yet as i'm working through other issues. I was told by an employee at ZAC that the 30# rating is supposedly used for the 750. I dont know if the 750 uses the same bubble doors as what's offered for the 701, perhaps the fellow enthusiasts constructing the new 750's could help Rolling Eyes I know I will fab the door bracket to assure door is forced closed to prevent "accidental opening" by having the spring go over center at the near closed position. The length of this bracket or "arm" should'nt need to be much.
I recently had my bubble door fall from the open position from the wing sucker, which ended up breaking the back edge of my door because the harness buckle was hanging out of the door opening "just right". The sellection chart can get you what ever range you want. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Do you know the p/n of the spring or the open and closed lengths? And do you know how far from the hinge you fastened the spring to the door frame and the fuselage?
