Listers,

On rare occasions I have seen 6061T6 extruded angle in both 3-foot and 6-foot lengths at Home Depot.

I stress the word 'rare' because they stock aluminum, steel, brass, etc, in a stand-up rack and it consists of whatever they can get at the moment. Or, whatever some buyer buys for stock.
I'd wager that the buyers don't know 6061 from Shinola, but that's another story.

Point is, if you are wandering through a box store and see a bin of assorted metals, look closely at the labels which MAY be attached to the individual pieces.
Ones I've seen are made by Crown Metals and specifically state "6061-T6" and have a Crown part number.

Insert another disclaimer here!!

Anyway, if you only need a couple of pieces and want to avoid the freight charges, this may do it.

Stuff I purchased couple of years ago had the 'fillet' on the inside angle, and a very slight 'rounding' on the outside corner.....not the sharp 90-degree deal on the cheap decorative aluminum made from recycled garbage.
The Crown material makes excellent brackets, braces, etc, for things like radio supports, ELT supports, and others.

Be careful that you are reading the Mill print on the piece of aluminum and not the sticker some one has stuck to it.

Home Depot is not a reliable source as you may well know. Smile
