I'm just curious if anyone out there is using a small laptop computer with EFB (Electronic Flight Bag) or moving map software in their cockpit? I was originally thinking of using something like a Lowrance Airmap 2000c, but I just bought a small laptop that would fit in my XL quite nicely and after doing a little research, looks like it might do a better job for less money with a GPS antenna and the right software. I know Mark Langford uses one in his KR2S with ChartCase software - just curious about other's experience.

I would be very reluctant to use a laptop for a primary instrument in an airplane. I have never seen one with a screen that could be seen in bright sunlight. At the very least, I would try it out in the sunlight at home before deciding.

Debo,
Langford just bought another laptop before CC#12 ask him what is is. He got it off Ebay, but the reason he got it was because of the bright screen it has.
