All-
After trying for weeks to find a plastic laminate to cover my panel with I tried McMaster Carr in desperation. Bingo- a bizillion choices. Shipping will probably cost as much as the material.
Why? The .025 kit panel is simply too flimsy for my liking. In addition, I won't have to worry about scratching the paint, because there won't be any. I'll attach the laminate using ACS #08-01026 spray adhesive, which is high temp super glue in a spray can. Great stuff- I found it by accident. The weight penalty should be negligible.
Three days 'till Christmas vacation. Hopefully all the instruments will get mounted and I'll be soldering soon. My shopping's been done for a week, and the cards went out last weekend. All prepared to make major progress.

A local source for laminate would be a company that installs laminate counter tops or shower enclosures. Scraps of such laminate also make great patterns and templates, and the price is right.

The McMaster Carr price for more than I'll need came to less than $7. Like I say, shipping or driving around to find something will cost more than what you're looking for these days.

When I searched on laminate at Mcmaster a lot of stuff came up, but none that I believe that you are speaking of. Do you have the catalog number?
