So it's winter in Wisconsin which means my unheated detached garage is even colder than OAT! I've made room in the basement so I can do some work there over the next few months. I'm done with the tail section and have one wing clecoed and sitting in a stand. I'm wondering what I should work on next.
I was thinking of working on flaps but noticed the precise dimensions in the manual for locating the flap attach brackets. Instinct tells me that while the numbers in the manual are important, the *actual* numbers on my wing are even more important.
Has anyone else built flaps prior to wings? If so, how well did things work out for you? For those that built wings before flaps - did you use the flap attach brackets from the manual or as measured from your wing?
Same questions for slats.
Maybe I should start working on the rear fuse...
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey there fellow Packer Fan!
I feel your pain concerning temps, its now -10F and I am going to build the rear fuselage, instead of the wings. No room in the basement, with the new family room that I have been Coerced into building by my devious better half. And the garage is not an option.. detached metal building, no heat. I think she is using this airplane building thing  . I remember your older post but I forget the lesson of the build order., thanks for reminding me.

Hi Ben;
My advice regarding wings or flaps first is to make sure you space the ribs and brackets accurately. If you do this then which parts you do first is not important. Having said that, if you are off a little, a mm or so, it is not a big problem. When I was building mine I tried to make the bracket spacing as accurate as possible. I was off a little so I will add a washer to fix the problem.

I built a second set of wings and using same flaps was no problem.
Just take accurate measurements from your flaps/slats for wing bracket
spacings and you will be ok. Do not trim inboard flaps until you fit wings
to fuselage.
