These are fairly low resolution taken a bunch of years ago, but will give an idea how the skis were put together. As I recall, I had about $90 in them.
Even if one doesn't want to go with something like these, I'm sure they will lead to inspirations for other ideas.

You sent me these pics a couple of years ago, and indeed they
inspired me to build....a bit different, but build just the same.
