Thanks Buz, HNY to you also. If you think others might use it by all
means put it in. I took a look under the cockpit earlier today and
there's scope to shorten the cables by moving the pulleys behind the
instrument panel closer some more. I still had adjustment enough in the
turnbuckles.
Been a bit slow lately with the Esqual but getting a move on now for the
New Year!

Hi Colin & Clive,
I think you will find that this is not a problem on the Lightning and on only some of the (early?) Esquals. Pretty sure Nick, Pete, and Ben saw this while they were building early Esquals and designed the Lightning so that it would not have this concern. There were other Esqual design concerns (like the aileron bay / aileron hinge points, rudder and brake pedals made out of stainless, etc) that they changed while designing the Lightning. Bottom line, the Lightning is a much stronger airframe and sub assemblies- all around.
