Simple solution here. Go to Reilly's and buy a bottle of Plast-X by
Meguiar's. It's only $6.49. Great stuff, it will clean a cloudy head
light or convertible window in minutes to look like new. It will get
scratches out and clean your windshield too, then use this, Rain-X. It
will keep you windshield and doors looking new as well as providing
great protection and not to mention doing what it's advertised to do is
Rain-X. Bugs and stuff don't stick near as bad either. Larry, N1345L

Awful quite in here lately.
My windshield has been sitting on my open porch for over 2 years. I'll be installing it soon. After that I have to clean off the 2 year old protection on it. it looks opaque nasty and hardened. any suggestion on what to use. My 1st thought was sandpaper. Really, I'm kidding....Geoff
