|
|
Step one - option for posting to Photoshare via e-mail.
Open a new browser tab (Ctl-T) in Chrome, Firefox or a newer Internet Explorer or a new browser window, if Tabbed Windows are not an option for you, and pasting in this link. You can do that by right clicking this link too:
http://www.matronics.com/photoshare/kitfox-list.html
If you forget this step, no problem. There is a link in each and every e-mail sent from Matronics mail lists and for the Kitfox List it is:
http://www.matronics.com/Navigator?Kitfox-List
Which has the photoshare link above listed near the bottom of the page.
Here you will see instructions at the top of the page for e-mailing photos for posting. But this requires manual intervention by Matt and of course still requires one to e-mail photos. So we won't do that. Instead scroll down to the bottom and look at all the pictures posted by mail list category. Then instead, start the process at Step two.
Step two - option for posting via the Kitfox Forum.
The Forum is a companion to all mail lists on Matronics. You can browse all of the list postings here, even if you are not signed up for a single one. In order to post messages and pictures you must be first registered. You have to do that only once but you must register even if you're already on the KF Mail List.
The direct link to the KF List is:
http://forums.matronics.com/viewforum.php?f=8
But you can always find that link by clicking the forum link in every e-mail you get from the KF List. You'll notice in an e-mail from the KF List there is a link to the forums:
http://forums.matronics.com
Select the KF List when you're there or use the link above to go directly to the KF Forum.
If you're not yet registered, click the register icon in the upper right corner of the screen. Fill out the form.
Here's an important tip when registering:
Use your real name or the name you want people to call you in the box for "Username". This *DOES NOT* have to be any part of your e-mail address. It will appear on the Forum in author column exactly as you type it here. So make it look good. Many people error when they fill this in as you can see by the names in the Author list. If your name is "Jane Doe" then type that in this blank. If you have a well known nickname such as 'Deke', you might use that. But don't put something meaningless like a24056 which might be part of your e-mail address and has no real association with you personally.
After putting in your name, e-mail address, password and the security stuff, continue filling out everything. If you have an instant messenger handle, put that in. If you want your e-mails and postings signed, put up to 250 characters there too. Do a nice job. You can come back later and make changes (by clicking the profile icon) but obviously if you pick a screwball Username, you'll have to delete it and start over. So the important tip when registering is to select a good Username right off.
Whew, this is supposed to be simple and from here on out it really is.
Step 3 - Login
If you're not already here, go to the login page for the Kitfox Forum.
http://forums.matronics.com/viewforum.php?f=8
Now you'll see a couple of 'sticky' postings at the top of the list. They're put there by the administrator and will always be in that position. Read them sometime. You can read any thread (called topics here). A topic is started with the first posting from the subject line of the e-mail. If it is a response and has "Re:" in the subject it is counted as just that, a response. That's why it is important to update the subject line of your postings to reflect the content. If you start the topic in the forum as I am doing here then, you simply click the "New Topic" icon just above the top of the list of topics.
Now you compose your posting here. You can optionally add, delete or change photos by clicking the "Add an Attachment" in the Attachment Posting Control Panel. You can compose your message in HTML and there are tools and smileys for doing so. I recommend that you *NOT* post in HTML unless you really have a specific purpose. so unselect that box.
In the text of your e-mail be sure to mention that you've posted pictures.
I'm posting a picture of me taken at the Concord California Airport of me in front of my Cherokee 160 on my first cross country trip after getting an Instrument Rating I believe in 1975. So, you'll have to leave it up to your imagination what I must look like nearly 34 years later.
The posted photo is a little over 2 MB in size and it take about 4 seconds after I clicked the "Add Attachment" button for it to transfer to Matronics. You can repeat this process for multiple photos.
I have also selected the poll option to see if this was helpful to anyone.
