Thanks for the reply.  The aux battery supports the Ebus on it's own which implies that the battery is sufficient.  It is only when the starter is engaged that the voltage is pulled down and the EFIS reboots so there must be a connection to the main battery somewhere that is only activated when the starter is engaged.  I'll disconnect the diodes and run the Ebus only from the aux battery and see if that makes a difference.  Any other suggestions are welcome.
