Just saw an illustration of why we are , as country, screwed, Flew the 10 to KPRC (Prescott AZ) for breakfast. Upon leaving the restaurant, we saw 6 TSA/law enforcement types standing around. I believe they have a couple of commuter flights a day.You and I paid 6 government employees (probably overtime/premium pay). This is the Bin Laden secret plan; kill us with bureaucracy..

Just remember, TSA stands for Totally Screwing Aviation. I suppose it
could be Totally Screwing Americans if they continue down the path they
are on.

I was in the Moab C UT airport last September and saw that they had at least six (there may have been more I didn't see) TSA personnel wandering around. I can't see why there were ANY TSA there. The airport only gets about three scheduled flights a day from Salt Lake City using Piper Navajos. The town of Moab is only about 7000. This is not much of an airport. Just a small rural strip. Typical government reponse I guess. Dan Riggs

HI,
I thought they were just "considering" monitoring planes over 12,500 lbs , and the proposed rule wasn't made yet. But now this? Navajos' are certainly way under 12,500 lbs. tsa has no right to be there. I sure hope Obama et al changes this and curbs their runaway power grab. They are getting like brownshirts! Total waste of taxpayer dollars. One more reason we are going into the red deepr and deeper on the deficit. How much did it cost to just change their white uniforms to the new blue ones??

We are next if this keeps happening. Can you imagine them stopping us at our hangar searching our car and luggage as we try to go in our hangar and put our belongings in our own airplane, trying to tell us we can't bring 80 items on our OWN plane?? If they tried that on me, I would end up being hauled off to jail before I would submit...
Brian

The only thing I can think of is that the luggage would get checked at Moab (people also C perhaps) and then go directly to a connecting flight at SLC without going thru security again. But C they sure don't need six people standing around to take care of several (sometimes less) flights of Navajos a day. The flights weren't even full when we were there. What's to keep the plane from landing at some small airport on the way back to SLC and picking up "unapproved" items? Bet they hadn't thought of that!
On a side note C I told the pilot that I'd bet the plane was older than he was. Yep C the plane was 30 years old and he couldn't have been older than 25.  Dan
