I'm amazed at how many emails I've received asking if the panels will fit AA1s.

Is it that NOT well known that the four-seaters were derived from the 2-seater?

The cabin widths are the same.  The instrument panels are the same.

How many know that the empennage, from the seam on the honeycomb cabin to the tail of the plane, is exactly the same length on both planes?

Now, this IS news to me. Would replacing a -5 rear fuselage with a -1

rear fuselage be considered a reasonalbe repair or is there a difference
in tail feathers that preclude the swap???
Linn .... don't know why this is relevant!!! Razz

Having owned my AA-1B for 27 years, and an AA-1A, and having time in AA-5's, yes I know that one. Glad American chose the AA-5 linage over the AA-2 (sorry Roscoe), as this has increased the parts availability to the AA-1 fleet.
