Hi

From Peter Mitchell owner/builder of lightning no56 in Bunbury, Western Australia. I have flown 70 hours now and find the Lightning a fantastic aircraft.

Has anybody fitted a mikuni carby. the Jab engine. I have used the Mikuni successfully for tuning high performance motor cycle engines and the carby
is used as a replacement for the original carby on Harleys with improved performance.

The mikuni should be a better option than the Revmaster because it is pressure compensated to 10,000 ft and is to my experience easy to tune.

I am considering trying one on my aircraft , but don’t want to re-invent the wheel, so if anybody has tried it, please let me know your results.

Cheers
Peter Mitchell

Hi Peter C send us a picture of your plane!  Also C you might want to consider contacting the Jabiru company over there and asking if they know if anybody has done that since they also use the engines.  Sounds like a good plan C but as you said C it's better to not reinvent the wheel if somebody else has already tried it.  Brian W.

Hi Brian

Have attached 2 photos. First one is before first flight and the second is on arrival with my mate Chris in Bunbury on completion of our flight across Australia. The plane has yet to be “Decorated”. This will happen in Feb.

Cheers Peter
