Dick C Great picture of the tail of your plane. But C I'll be damned if I can see any gap seal. I Like your TR3 also.

If you are gap sealing your rudder CJohn McBean has a very nice contoured hard foam for that purpose. I bought some of it and glued it to the horizontal stab then covered it with 6 inch polyfiber tape. I painted it and it looks nice .

Patrick,
Thanks for the complement on my TR3. The gap seal on my rudder is a vertical piece of contoured foam that I covered with 6 inch Polyfiber tape and painted. If you look at the picture, the hinge areas were not covered so that I would have access to the hinge bolts. Previously that entire area between the vertical stab and rudder was about a 2 inch gap. The contoured foam is available from John McBean. I epoxied it to the trailing edge of the vertical stab. The aircraft was already painted but I could not stand to look at that huge gap so I had to do it. I have enclosed a picture of a taped temporary rudder gap seal I tried (looked horrible) and it shows the old gap a little better.
