I am considering  organizing a flying trip (ten planes or less) to Alaska via the ALCAN highway in  summer 2010, probably mid June to mid July. My guess that the trip should allow  about 5-7 days each way and 7-9 days in Alaska. During the winter all the  Canadian snowbirds winter in AZ, so I currently have access to people who have  made the trip multiple times. I will get.be getting some of their reference  materials. I haven't decided which airplane (Glastar or RV10) to take but  certainly the aircraft group would have to be pretty similar to accommodate  similar cruise speeds and ranges.
