Group,
This is just a quick note to the group to report a couple of great experiences I've had in the short time I've been a member of this group.
The first was just over a months ago courtesy of Jim Mcburney. Jim was nice enough to invite my wife and I to his local EAA chapter meeting and to let us take a long look at his 801 Project. He bought us lunch and was a very gracious host. We talked about his choice of engine, his future ministry plans with the plane, and a multitude of other things. It was a real boost in the arm for my wife and I as we geared up to start our 801 Rudder. Great guy.
The next was during our trip down to Flight Crafters in Florida to start our Rudder build last week. Phil Owens and his lovely wife happened to be in the area at the same time and were nice enough to take time away from visiting family to meet my wife and I for lunch to discuss their 801 project. We spent 2.5 hours raking Phil over the coals for information and experience he's gained during the build but didn't even scratch the surface of what that man knows. We learned a lot though and had a great time getting to know them. Great folks!
I just wanted to take this opportunity to publicly thank Jim and Phil for their help and support. Having folks reach out and freely offer their knowledge and experience confirms my decision to build a Zenith Project. Having such a strong community of builders and fliers is a major asset. Thanks guys!
