I woke up early this morning so I did the following estimate.Someone on the Zenith site got me thinking.
ESTIMATE the weight of one skin by making a rectangle
(cut down center line and flip one piece end for and and rotate)
20 x 138 inches at .016 http://www.steelforge.com/steelweights.htm says that this weighs 4.6lbs x 4 sides is 18.4lbs. The same thing at .020 is 5.7 lbs ea and 22.8lbs for all 4 sides. This is 4.4 lbs more. The wing area done the same way for all pieces and added up gives 11505 square inches each side or a singe piece 50x230 ( 11505/50 so it works in the weight calculator) Using .016 gives a weight of 7.6 lbs each and 15.2lb for both. Using the .020 you get 9.5 lbs each and 19lbs for both, so 3.8 lbs more. If doing all of it in .020 the wings and rear fuse adds a total of 8.2lbs more.
Doing this would also make it less susceptible to rashes.
